Some of you requested a sample exam. Here
is an exam from a previous Math 405 course I taught, but using a
different book, so the material and notation is a little bit different,
but you might find useful. The second exam is harder for me to
give samples since
I did the material in a different order. But you could look at
problems 3a-c, 5 of this sample exam and
problems 2, 3, 6, 7 of this sample final.
What is not tested in these exams is ideals of polynomials. You
should expect some problem(s) involving ideals. I also refer you
to testbank on the
mathematics department web site. Relevant problems are:
