Syllabus:   We will cover all or parts of chapters 1
through 6 in Atkinson & Han.
Course Objectives:   This course is intended to introduce students to some of the basic ideas in Numerical Analysis. We will supplement our theoretical work with computer work using MATLAB.

Exams and Assignments:   There will be two midterm exams, several assignments to be handed in and a final exam on Wednesday, December 15 from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.
First Hour Exam: Friday, October 15
Covers chapters 2,4 & 6 in the text.
Second Hour Exam: Monday, November 22
Covers material on least squares, chapter 5 and the beginning of
chapter 3 in the text.
Grading:   Approximately 40% midterms, 30% assignments, 30% final exam.
