STAT 450 (Regression and Variance Analysis)


DESCRIPTION One, two, three and four-way layouts in analysis of variance, fixed effects models, linear regression in several variables, Gauss-Markov Theorem, multiple regression analysis, experimental designs.
PREREQUISITES STAT 401 or STAT 420
TOPICS Review of basic notions of Statistical Inference; e.g. Hypothesis Testing
Least squares estimation and simple regression
Graphical tests of model assumptions
Multiple regression
Special models: polynomial regression and coding categorical predictors
Model selection techniques
Regression approach to analysis of variance
One factor and two factor designs
