EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM
. Internships are being offered to math majors
who are between their junior and senior years. Participants receive full-time

QUALITY
EDUCATION FOR MINORITIES (QEM) NETWORK SCIENCE STUDENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
.
The 1999 Winter/Spring Term Science Internship provides an 18-week, approximately
15 hours per week assignment at NASAs Goddard Space Flight Center, located
in Greenbelt, MD, as well as a $3000 taxable stipend. Program runs from
January 18, 1999 to May 21, 1999. Students will be placed in a programmatic
area within NASA based on students background and major. Applications
are available in the CMPS Career Services Office.

. NASA sponsors a six-week Space Life Sciences Training Program
that is conducted by the Kennedy Space Center and Florida A&M University.
Participants gain insight into how space life sciences flight experiments
are conducted, as well as explore current and future research opportunities.
A stipend of approximately $25 a day is paid. For application materials,

LUNAR AND
PLANETARY INSTITUTE- NASA JOHNSON SPACE CENTER
. The Institute
invites students in mathematics who have completed at least 50 hours of
credit to participate in lunar/planetary research with scientists at the
Institute and the NASA Johnson Space Center. The program runs for 10 weeks.
Participants receive $350 per week and a maximum of $1000 toward travel
expenses. Selection is based on scholarship, curriculum, and experience;
career objectives and scientific interest; and a match between the interests

The Trade Information Center Intern Program
is an opportunity to gain exposure to the intricacies of international
trade, including the export process, federal export assistance programs,

affairs and commerce. Students with skills in math and statistics are also
