Course Material
The primary textbook for this course is entirely on-line. The
Course
Material page contains: the on-line textbook, homework
assignments, homework solutions, and supplementary material. Each
section of the textbook comes with supplementary material, both
internal and external links. These include other resources, videos, etc.
We recommend getting a secondary textbook to refer to in addition to the online notes. The book by Boyce and DiPrima covers a lot of the same material. The new edition is very expensive, but you should be able to find older editions, which are fine, fairly cheaply.
Matlab Text:
We use Matlab in this course. In addition to the primary online text, the
Matlab textbook is required: Differential Equations with MATLAB, Third Edition,
Brian R. Hunt, Ronald L. Lipsman, John E. Osborn, and Jonathan M. Rosenberg
J. Wiley and Sons, New York, 2012. Paperback: ISBN 978-1-1183-7680-5
Note: the second edition is out of date.

Homework
It is very important to do as many of the homework assignments as
possible. Complete solutions to the homework are provided. Although
the homework isn't graded, each week there will be a quiz in
Discussion section based directly on that week's homework.
Quiz make-up policy You can drop your 2 lowest quizzes. If you have an excused absence, for example for a religious holiday, you can either use one of your drops, or subsitute 1/10 of the grade on the next test for the missing quiz. See me or contact your TA to arrange this.
