Math 125 Tutoring, Fall 1999 and Spring 2000
Below are listed some free drop-in tutoring services that are
appropriate for Math 125 students. I would welcome any feedback about
your experiences with any of them. If you run across another that you
like, please suggest that it be added to this list. If you are
thinking of investing in a private tutor, you might see me first for
some advice. There is a list of private tutors available outside the
window of MATH 108.
- Math Tutoring Room:
- Mondays - Fridays, 10:00am - 2:50pm in MTL 123.
This tutoring room is located in the
Mathematics Teaching Laboratory (MTL), which is the one story
building that lies immediately south of the Mathematics building.
Tutors are faculty members, instructors, and advanced graduate students
of the Department of Mathematics, and may therefore be your best source
of help outside of office hours. This service ends on the last day of
classes.

Freshman Year Student Study Center: (621-7763)
- Sundays - Thursdays, 5:00pm - 8:00pm in Park Student Center.
Tutors are peers (undergraduate and graduate students) hired and
trained by the University Learning Center. Priority service is
given to freshmen. Tutoring is available there for other Tier 1,
Tier 2, and entry level courses; see their
schedule.
This service ends on the last day of classes.

Residence Life Tutoring:
- Mondays, 8:00pm - 10:00pm in Coronado (Tyndall and 5th);
- Tuesdays, 8:00pm - 10:00pm in Graham-Greenlee (Highland and 4th);
- Wednesdays, 7:00pm - 9:00pm in Manzanita-Mohave (Park and 2nd).
Ask for tutoring at the front desk. Tutors are peers (undergraduate
and graduate students) hired and trained by the University Learning
Center. Tutoring is also available for other select Mathematics
and English courses in the above residence halls on select evenings.
No service will be provided on Wednesday, 10 and 24 November. This
service ends on the last day of classes.

Math and Science Learning Center: (621-7997)
- Mondays - Thursdays, 9:00am - 5:00pm in Nugent, Room 5;
- Fridays, 9:00am - 3:00pm in Nugent, Room 5.
Tutoring is available to students who are US citizens or permanent
residents who are ethnic minority or eligible for financial aid based
on need. Tutors are trained peers. The center is located in the
Nugent Building, Room 5 and tutoring is available on both drop-in and
small group basis for a wide range of lower division courses.

University Learning Center: (621-4548)
The ULC organizes many tutoring services at the University,
including the Freshman Year Student Study Center and the
Residence Life Tutoring listed above. You should check with
them for other services.
