Chapters in Boyce & diPrima with corresponding chapters in Coombes et al. in parentheses:
1, 2.1--2.8 (5--6), 8.1--8.4 (7), 3 (9),6.1--6.2 (11), 7.1--7.7 (12), 9.1--9.5 (13)
HOMEWORK
Homework problems from Boyce & diPrima will be assigned weekly, but not collected.
GRADING POLICY
Exams (Total 40%)
There will be 3 in-class exams. Make-up exams will only be given for legitimate and documented absences.
Matlab Assignments (Total 30%)
There will be 4 Matlab assignments to be handed in. You may work in teams of up to 3 students with each team handing in one paper. If an assignment is handed in late, there will be a penalty of 15% for each day after the due date. You can hand in assignments either in class, or you can slide them under the door of my office until 9:00 pm. You must write the date and time on your homework when you slide it under the door.

There will also be a mandatory practice assignment which each student should complete by Sept. 11. It will not be collected.

Final Exam (30%)
The cumulative final exam will be on Mon, Dec. 15, 1:30pm--3:30pm (snow date Dec. 21). The room will be announced later.
