- ``Numerical Computing with Matlab'' by Cleve Moler. I will not follow
the textbook very closely, and I recommend that you take notes.

- 2 Exams (Total 25%)
- Make-up exams will only be given for legitimate and
documented absences according to the University

must notify me of any such absence as soon as possible.
- Homeworks (Total 40%)
- There will be about 5 assignments, containing both theoretical
problems and computer problems with Matlab.
- Team Project (10%)
- There will be a Matlab project which can be done in teams of up
to three students.
- Policy for Homeworks, Team Project
- If an assignment is late, there will be a penalty of 15% for
each day after the due date. You can hand in assignments either in
class, or you can slide them under the door of my office (MTH
4416) until 10pm. You must write the date and current
time on your assignment when you slide it under the door. The
homeworks must be done individually by each student, sharing of
material (in particular code) is considered academic dishonesty.
For the team project no material can be shared among different
teams.
- Final Exam (25%)
- The cumulative final exam will be on Saturday, Dec. 18,
8:00-10:00am in MTH 0201.
- Matlab
- This course will use Matlab (version 5 or higher). You need a WAM or
Glue account, and a printing account. You can also buy the student
version of Matlab and use it on your own computer.
