MATH 241: Homework

Fall 1998, Section 0401, Professor Ron Lipsman

General Remarks

The problems listed here are the minimum amount you should do to acquire proficiency in the material of this course. Plain problem numbers refer to B&DiP, that is, Elementary Differential Equations, Sixth Edition, by W. Boyce and R. DiPrima. Bold italic problems refer to SCHOL, that is, Differential Equations with MATLAB, by K. Coombes, B. Hunt, R. Lipsman, J. Osborn and G. Stuck. The latter are to be turned in by the corresponding due date. They must be solved using MATLAB. Problems marked with a plus sign (+) provide practice in basic skills. In general, B&DiP contains many more than one problem of each type. You should do as many problems of each type as it takes to convince yourself that you have mastered the skill. Problems on exams will be written in a way that assumes you have acquired all the basic skills.
