On the Hilbert expansion to Boltzmann equations

Abstract: The asymptotic expansions to Boltzmann equations provide a clue of connection from kinetic theory to fluid mechanics. In this talk we present a rigorous passage from Vlasov-Poisson-Boltzmann system to Euler-Poisson system via Hilbert expansion. Moreover, we prove an almost global-in-time convergence for the repulsive Euler-Poisson flow for monatomic gas. This is joint work with Yan Guo.
