Hydrodynamic limit of the Boltzmann equation in a bounded domain

Abstract:  We will discuss the limit from the Bolzmann equation towards the Navier-Stokes-Fourier system in a bounded domain. We observe two boundary layers: a viscous one and a kinetic one. The acoustic waves a damped due to these boundary layers. This is joint work with Ning Jiang.
