Abstract:
Globalization of information and increased access to social media has lead to a wide-spread phenomena of bursts of civil unrest that occur at much larger spatial scales than in the past. A great example of this is the Arab Springs.
Then, in modeling social unrest it is important to understand how the non-local spread of information affects the spread of activity. In this talk I introduce a non-local stochastic system of differential equations, which include exogenous and endogenous effects. |
