NonLocal Balance Laws in the Modeling of Collective Phenomena

In a numebr of realistic situations, the modeling of collective dynamics leads to the use of nonlocal balance laws. While the well posedness of (some) models is obtained through various analytic techniques, the qualitative properties of the solutions are currently investigated mostly through the numerical integrations of sample situations. The present talk presents some recent results in this area.
